My time in Amsterdam was a part of my trip that I was incredibly curious about.
What kind of people would I meet? Will I fit in with the atmosphere? Will I have somewhere nice to sleep?
Thankfully the city lived up to its notorious name of being mysteriously exciting in both its unique, relaxed culture & stunning European scenery.
I was lucky enough to meet some friendly girls in my Hostel & we had a full-on 2 days of sight seeing; The Anne Frank Museum, The Rijkmuseum, The Vangough Museum, The Heiniken Experience, The Canal Side Flower Markets & my personal favorite Vondelpark.
Everyday i feel so grateful that im meeting so many new fun loving, like minded travelers!
It’s unbelievable how many Australians I’ve run into In Europe but I’m lucky enough to have made some new lifelong friends in some very unexpected places / countries.
Since announcing my visit to Amsterdam i was surprised to hear of many misconceptions being made of the ‘type of society & culture’ in this city, I believe this quote I found on a wax seal in a Deutch stationary store sums up my very typically adventurous touristy experience;
"What you see depends on what you are looking for"
Thank you Amsterdam, for showing me culture, art, music, architecture & the quirky side to Hollands most famous city.
